Self-Expanding EsophaCoil Esophageal Prostheiss for Patient with Advanced Esophageal Cancer

Abstract
Esophageal cancer is an incurable disease in the majority of patients, probably due to long symptomless duration after developing of cancer. So endoscopic incubation is well established as a and durable procedure for palliation of malignant dysphagia. However, the placement of convenl esophageal endoprosthesis is difficult in some cases and this procedure is associated with signifcomplications such as perforation, hemorrhage and dysfunction of the prosthesis in the long time.
The self-expanding metalic scents offer an attractive alternative to conventional esophageal scents which can be inserted through a small lumen catheter, making placement easier and safer to patients. But inflammatory response at site of the metal strut, difficulty in retrieving of placed prosthesis, ex->nsiveness and tumor ingrowth are problems to be solued.
Recently developed EsophaCoil esophageal prosthesis is a simple coil with close loops made from a gle flat wire of nickel titanium alloy. The tight coil design helps to resist tumor and tissue ingrowth, and the flared ends help to reduce migration.
I experienced a case of a 75-years old male with malignant stenosis of far advanced esophageal cancer in whom EsophaCoil esophageal prosthesis was successfully implanted and relieved dysphagia comoletely more than 6months.
